  18.     The Aminet Set contains close to 4 gigabytes (more than 2 gigs 
  19.     compressed) of freely distributable software on 4 newly mastered
  20.     CDs. There are 12500 archives from the following categories:

  23.     2600 Modules
  24.     1000 Games
  25.     1000 Communications programs
  26.      900 Graphics programs
  27.      800 Images

  38. USER INTERFACE

  40.     Amigaguide based user interface, allows easy unpacking and viewing 
  41.     using a single mouse click.

  43.     Extensive search facilities. Finds words in descriptions or readmes,
  44.     and outputs matches as an index that allows direct viewing.

  46.     Special support for the following categories of files:

  48.     - Modules. Can be viewed and played from an index that is sorted
  49.       by music style and subsorted by rating.
  50.  
  51.     - Images. Can be previewed in a database of thumbnail versions, and
  52.       a double click on the thumbnail shows the full size image.
  53.  
  54.     - Games. Can be started using a single click from an index that lists
  55.       all games that can be run on accelerated Amigas, with the best games
  56.       on top. Degrading software started as needed.
  57.  
  58.     - Demos. As the games, they can be started using a single click.
  59.       Demos with a quit function are listed separately.

  61.     - Charts. A list of the most popular programs is on the CD, sorted
  62.       by category.

  64.     - Fish disks. You can find any of the programs on Aminet using the
  65.       number of the Fish disk it can also be found on. All 1000 Fish 
  66.       disks are part of the Aminet CD.

  68.     - German files. All new files and those with German documentation
  69.       have a German description.

  74.     - 270M of new files out since Aminet CD 4 was made. Snapshot date
  75.       of the set: Dec 18th
  76.     - Special access features, see above. One of the main goals of the
  77.       set is to provide the new interface for the old files as well.
  78.     - Accelerated searches and full text searches (find any text in 
  79.       any readme within five seconds).

  84.     - All Amigas including CDTV/A570. Not compatible with CD32 plus 
  85.       Communicator. Compatible with CD32 plus SX1. Not bootable.
  86.     - All Amiga OS versions for the access software. OS 2.0 or even
  87.       3.0 required for some of the direct viewing features.
  88.     - Readable by all operating systems, including MSDOS, OS/2 and 
  89.       UNIX.
